.
I call it a DELUXE pattern pack because you’re getting row-by-row knitting patterns for the dolls & their clothes, lots of close up photos, teaching tips AND how-to videos for every intermediate stitch used in them.
Everything you always wished was included in a learn-to-knit pattern !
This pattern pack is designed to make it easy for you to teach your child several more complex stitches (beyond the knit & purl stitch)…. or to brush up on your own skills. The small size allows them to practice each stitch a few times AND finish the projects without becoming frustrated or losing interest.
Within these simple patterns, they will learn essential concepts & stitches which many more advanced knitters don’t even know (!) –
- a sturdy, multi-purpose cast on (cable)
- a decorative cast on (picot)
- matching decreases (left & right slanting)
- knitting a bottom-up, one-piece garment (the vest)
You & Your Child Can Knit Heirloom Quality Toys Together…
.
These little people are designed to stand up on their own or be used as finger puppets. They are small enough to live in a doll house, a purse or even a pocket ! Knit with natural wool, they are cozy to hold & will enjoy being well-loved.
Each doll has their own removable (!) clothing & you can customize them in a million ways. This pattern uses only wool & fleece (to stuff the heads) but you can add fabric, buttons, embroidery floss, beads &/or ribbon
—the possibilities are endless!
Experiment with different clothes & hair/eye/skin colours to create fairytale or storybook figures or even family members!
It’s easy, quick & inexpensive to knit these heirloom-quality toys & wonderful to know your child will get years of learning & enjoyment from them – you can even save them for your grandchildren (I’m saving mine)!
.
Experience Level
.
This Pattern Pack was created with the slightly-advanced beginner (early intermediate) knitter in mind, If you & your child know the knit & purl stitches & can sew a short seam — you’re ready to knit these dolls!
(Of course, if you’re a more advanced knitter, you’ll enjoy knitting these dolls, too!).
The dolls are a perfect project for you to make along with your child & each piece is essentially a “mini-project” – perfect for a beginning (or younger) knitter who’s looking for some simple practice pieces. The best way to have fun knitting is being able to start & finish projects quickly – especially in the early days,….!
